How to simply connect an Xbox 360 controller with a Mac to play some games! You will need; - Mac - Xbox 360 controller - Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver; UK - US - Software to install; Due to the newly released Mac OS X Yosemite the old software may not work on Mac's running Yosemite please try this instead; Instructions; 1. Buy an official Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver. Install the software on tattiebogle (link above).
After you receive the gaming receiver plug it into your Mac's USB port and the green light should show on the game receiver. Turn on your Xbox controller and hold the connect button on the top of the controller and hold the button on the front of the gaming receiver. This will then connect both devices to each other, basically what you did to connect your Xbox controller to the Xbox console when you first bought the console. It should then make you player 1. Now go system preferences and you should see a Xbox 360 controller image called'Xbox 360 controllers' click on it. Then the Xbox controller should show as the device, if not make sure the controller is turned on.
Then you are done. Go to a game which supports controllers for example BioShock Infinite and it should work straight away.
